The children's nature clearly demands presentation. Teach the child to any five unknown to him to words, and he will suffer long and in vain over them; but connect twenty such words with pictures and — the child will acquire them to a raid. You explain to the child very simple thought, and he does not understand you:
you explain to the same child a difficult picture, and he understands you quickly. Try the same incident to tell two children equally capable: to one — according to pictures, another without pictures — and you estimate then all value of pictures for the child.
